Temple Site
On July 13, 2026, the location of the Campo Grande Brazil Temple was announced as a 5.6-acre property located northeast of the intersection of Avenida Nelly Martins and Rua Cigana in the Carandá Bosque neighborhood of Campo Grande. Plans call for an single-story temple spanning 11,300 square feet.1
Temple Announcement
On April 6, 2025, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct the Campo Grande Brazil Temple at the 195th Annual General Conference. It is the 24th temple announced for Brazil. Campo Grande is a city in the Central-West Region of Brazil.
At the time of the announcement, nine other temples had recently been announced for the country: Florianópolis Brazil Temple, Goiânia Brazil Temple, João Pessoa Brazil Temple, Maceió Brazil Temple, Natal Brazil Temple, Santos Brazil Temple, São Paulo East Brazil Temple, Teresina Brazil Temple, and Vitória Brazil Temple. Eleven others were in operation: Belém Brazil Temple, Brasília Brazil Temple, Campinas Brazil Temple, Curitiba Brazil Temple, Fortaleza Brazil Temple, Manaus Brazil Temple, Porto Alegre Brazil Temple, Recife Brazil Temple, Rio de Janeiro Brazil Temple, Salvador Brazil Temple, and São Paulo Brazil Temple. And the Belo Horizonte Brazil Temple, Londrina Brazil Temple, and Ribeirão Preto Brazil Temple were under construction.
There were more than 1.5 million Latter-day Saints in Brazil, the third-most populous country of Latter-day Saints outside the United States.2
