The temple is being prepared for a six-month open house and celebration beginning April 5, 2027, marking a remarkable return to history. On April 5, 1893, exactly 134 years earlier, the temple opened its doors to visitors on the day before its dedication. Interest in next year’s open house has already been extraordinary, with one million reservations made on the first day the reservation system opened. "We want you to know that you’re not alone. Our hearts are with you. The First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles pray for you," he said. Before speaking to a group of hundreds of Saints, they visited the Cali Colombia Temple site. The neighborhood surrounding the site was significantly affected by the earthquake, but the temple itself was unharmed.
