  <title>Arch Above Celestial Room Installed at the Lethbridge Alberta Temple</title>
  <description><![CDATA[Tuesday, March 10, 2026<p>On the back side of the Lethbridge Alberta Temple, a concrete arch has been installed where the windows and decorative headers for the baptistry and celestial room will be located. On top of the building, concrete slabs are being poured for the floor of the mechanical level and the roofs of the east and west wings.   <description><![CDATA[Monday, March 9, 2026<p>The dates for the open house and dedication of the Cleveland Ohio Temple have been announced. The open house will begin with a media day held on Monday, June 15, 2026, followed by two days of private tours for invited guests. The public is invited to tour the new temple from Thursday, June 18 through Friday, July 3, 2026, excluding Sundays. Elder David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will preside at the dedication on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. with a rebroadcast at 2:00 p.m. The dedicatory session will be broadcast to all units in the temple district.</p><img src="/assets/img/temples/cleveland-ohio-temple/cleveland-ohio-temple-39008-main.jpg" />]]></description>

  <title>Early Morning Sunrise at the Cape Town South Africa Temple Site</title>
  <description><![CDATA[Monday, March 9, 2026<p>The work day starts early at the Cape Town South Africa Temple site, with many of the workers waking at 4:00 a.m. and spending two hours in travel time to begin work by 7:30 a.m. The work day ends at 5:00 p.m. with another two hours spent returning home. The telescoping cranes in the foreground are used to hoist the heavy panels into place. The bright white exterior of this sacred structure stands out against the blue skies as a visible symbol of faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ.   <description><![CDATA[Thursday, March 5, 2026<p>Work is progressing on building the pile-supported foundation for the Tacloban City Philippines Temple. The two-story building will rise against a tree-covered hillside overlooking Tacloban Bypass Road on the western edge of the city. Heavy equipment is used to carry out the earthworks and excavation.   <title>Gold Cupola Added to the Torreón Mexico Temple Tower</title>
  <description><![CDATA[Thursday, March 5, 2026<p>A gold cupola has been added to the tower of the Torreón Mexico Temple, which will be topped with a finial pointing heavenward. It is one of two temples in Mexico that are wrapping up construction, the other being the San Luis Potosí Mexico Temple. The temple president and matron for both temples have been called and are preparing for service. Stone cladding is being installed on the exterior surfaces of the building, which stands in the commune of Maipú approximately 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) from the mission office for the Chile Santiago West Mission.   <description><![CDATA[Tuesday, March 3, 2026<p>At the Tarawa Kiribati Temple site, heavy equipment is clearing ground on the west side of the building in preparation for landscaping. The prefabricated modules for the temple have been anchored to the concrete footings, and windows have been installed in the rough openings. Framing for the steeple and upper structures of the temple will soon follow.   <description><![CDATA[Sunday, March 1, 2026<p>Elder Gerrit W. Gong of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles dedicated the Harare Zimbabwe Temple on Sunday, March 1, 2026. In his dedicatory prayer, Elder Gong asked that the "light and blessings from this holy house chase out darkness and bring in goodness" and for blessings to "contribute to peace, stability, and firm foundation in our countries and communities, our stakes, wards and families."   <title>Pile Driving Underway for the Fairbanks Alaska Temple Foundation</title>
  <description><![CDATA[Saturday, February 28, 2026<p>Pile drivers are operating at the Fairbanks Alaska Temple site, as work on the deep foundation gets underway. Piles are used to transfer the structural load of the building through the weaker soil above to the stronger earth beneath. Located at a latitude of approximately 64.8° North, this house of the Lord will become the northernmost temple of the Church.   <description><![CDATA[Friday, February 27, 2026<p>The architectural lighting system for the Modesto California Temple has been installed, illuminating the exterior walls of the sacred edifice. Grass sod has been laid for the front lawn, and a beautiful variety of trees, shrubs, and plants have filled the flowerbeds. Construction of the temple has been underway for almost two-and-a-half years.   <title>Erecting the Steeple Frame for the Winchester Virginia Temple</title>
  <description><![CDATA[Thursday, February 26, 2026<p>Steel framing is being erected for the steeple of the Winchester Virginia Temple, which is rising over the front entrance of the building behind the portico. Framing is in place for the steeple pedestal and the lower tier of the tower. An upper tier will be added, which will eventually support a spire, topped with a finial.   <title>Steel Frame Erected for the Birmingham England Temple</title>
  <description><![CDATA[Wednesday, February 25, 2026<p>Over the several past weeks, the structural steel frame for the 38-meter (124.6-foot) high Birmingham England Temple has been erected, and framing is getting underway for the ancillary building, which will house patron lodging and office space. A total of 251.578 metric tons of steel will be used for the two buildings.   <title>Cladding the Tower Atop The Anchorage Alaska Temple</title>
  <description><![CDATA[Wednesday, February 25, 2026<p>The tower that rises over the center of the Anchorage Alaska Temple is currently tented in plastic sheeting, as masons continue to clad the structure with stone panels. The work of cladding the temple's exterior began last spring and is now in the final stages. This new house of the Lord is a replacement for the original temple building, which continues to operate on site.   <title>Drilling Wells to Dewater the Heber Valley Utah Temple Site</title>
  <description><![CDATA[Tuesday, February 24, 2026<p>Approval has been granted by the Utah Division of Water Rights for 20 wells to be drilled at the Heber Valley Utah Temple site to dewater the ground prior to construction. A 2023 study estimated that up to a million gallons of water would need to be pumped every day to prepare the property. A manager at the Utah Geological Survey says that although the number of gallons seems large, the dewatering project is relatively small in scale.   <title>Houston Texas South Temple Renamed the Fort Bend Texas Temple</title>
  <description><![CDATA[Monday, February 23, 2026<p>The Houston Texas South Temple has been renamed the Fort Bend Texas Temple. It will be the second temple constructed in Greater Houston, joining the Houston Texas Temple. The sacred structure will rise on a 15.7-acre site located north of Fort Bend Parkway on the west side of Sienna Parkway in Missouri City, Texas. Plans call for a single-story temple of approximately 46,000 square feet with an adjoining ancillary building and an on-site meetinghouse.</p><img src="/assets/img/temples/fort-bend-texas-temple/fort-bend-texas-temple-65383-main.jpg" />]]></description>
