Temple Announcement

On April 6, 2025, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct the San Jose del Monte Philippines Temple at the 195th Annual General Conference. Is the 14th temple announced for the country. At the time of the announcement, there were more than 880,000 Latter-day Saints in around 1,325 local congregations in the Philippines. The other 13 temples that were announced, under construction or in operation in the country were the Alabang Philippines Temple, Bacolod Philippines Temple, Cagayan de Oro Philippines Temple, Cebu City Philippines Temple, Davao Philippines Temple, Iloilo Philippines Temple, Laoag Philippines Temple, Manila Philippines Temple, Naga Philippines Temple, Santiago Philippines Temple, Tacloban City Philippines Temple, Tuguegarao City Philippines Temple, and Urdaneta Philippines Temple. Since the country officially opened for missionary work in 1961, the rate of Church growth in the Philippines continued to be among the fastest in the world.1
