The groundbreaking ceremony for the Naga Philippines Temple has been scheduled for Saturday, August 8, 2026. Elder Steven D. Shumway of the Philippines Area Presidency will preside at the event. The temple will be constructed on a 9.11-acre site located at the intersection of Almeda Highway and Almeda Avenue in the Concepcion Grande barangay of Naga. Site preparations have been under for the last several months.1

Temple Site
On February 23, 2026, the location for the Naga Philippines Temple was announced as a 9.11-acre site located at Lot 1045-A-1-A in the Concepcion Grande neighborhood (barangay) of Naga. Plans call for a single-story temple of approximately 18,850 square feet with an adjoining ancillary building and an on-site meetinghouse.2
Temple Announcement
On October 2, 2022, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct the Naga Philippines Temple at the October 2022 General Conference. It is the ninth announced temple in the Philippines. Naga City is located about 250 miles southeast of Manila. The first temple in Manila was dedicated in 1984. There are more than 833,000 Latter-day Saints in more than 1,250 congregations in the Philippines. Since the country officially opened for missionary work in 1961, Church growth has been among the fastest in the world.3
