Temple Announcement

On October 2, 2022, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct a temple in Prosper, Texas, at the October 2022 General Conference. The location was later changed to Fairview, a town located in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area of North Texas. Texas is home to more than 370,000 Latter-day Saints in 737 congregations. Missionary work in Texas began in 1843 during the early history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Fairview Texas Temple will be the state’s eighth temple.
