Temple Announcement

On October 1, 2023, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct the Vancouver Washington Temple at the October 2023 General Conference. It will be the sixth temple in Washington state and the second in the Portland metropolitan area. At the time of the announcement, dedicated temples in the state included the Columbia River Washington Temple, the Seattle Washington Temple, the Spokane Washington Temple, and the Moses Lake Washington Temple. The Tacoma Washington Temple had been announced in October 2022. Washington was home to more than 280,000 Latter-day Saints across 489 congregations.1
