Groundbreaking Ceremony

Elder Mark A. Bragg, General Authority Seventy, will preside at the groundbreaking services for the Vancouver Washington Temple on Saturday, August 23, 2025. The two-story temple will be constructed on a 15.11-acre site at the northwest corner of Southeast 20th Street and Southeast Bybee Road in Camas. Preliminary construction activities are currently underway including site clearing, utility connections, and realignment of Bybee Road.1


Temple Rendering

On September 3, 2024, the official exterior rendering for the Vancouver Washington Temple was released to the public.2


Temple Site

On February 26, 2024, the location of the Vancouver Washington Temple was announced as a 15.11-acre site located northwest of the intersection of SE 20th Street and SE Bybee Road in the Vancouver suburb of Camas. Plans call for a multistory temple of approximately 43,000 square feet.3


Temple Announcement

On October 1, 2023, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct the Vancouver Washington Temple at the October 2023 General Conference. It will be the sixth temple in Washington state and the second in the Portland metropolitan area. At the time of the announcement, dedicated temples in the state included the Columbia River Washington Temple, the Seattle Washington Temple, the Spokane Washington Temple, and the Moses Lake Washington Temple. The Tacoma Washington Temple had been announced in October 2022. Washington was home to more than 280,000 Latter-day Saints across 489 congregations.4
