On October 27, 2025, the official exterior rendering for the Piura Peru Temple was released to the public.
Temple Site
On October 27, 2025, the location of the Piura Peru Temple was announced as a 2.6-acre site located on the northwest corner of the intersection of Avenida Tallanes and Avenida Prolongación in Piura, Peru. Plans call for a single-story temple of approximately 18,850 square feet and an accompanying ancillary building.1
Temple Announcement
On October 1, 2023, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct the Piura Peru Temple at the October 2023 General Conference. Piura is the capital of the Piura Region in northwestern Peru. The temple will be the first house of the Lord in that region and the eighth in Peru. At the time of the announcement, Peru was home to around 630,000 Latter-day Saints in more than 775 congregations. Other temples in the country included the Arequipa Peru Temple, Chiclayo Peru Temple, Cusco Peru Temple, Iquitos Peru Temple, Lima Peru Temple, Lima Peru Los Olivos Temple, and Trujillo Peru Temple.2
