Construction Status

The Jacksonville Florida Temple is currently in the planning stages. No groundbreaking date has been announced.


Temple Rendering

An official rendering of the Jacksonville Florida Temple has not yet been released to the public.


Temple Site

On February 20, 2024, the location for the Jacksonville Florida Temple was announced as a 6.6-acre property located at 3323 Loretto Road in Jacksonville. Plans call for a single-story building of approximately 29,000 square feet.1


Temple Announcement

On October 2, 2022, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct the Jacksonville Florida Temple at the October 2022 General Conference. The temple will be the fifth in the state. There are more than 160,000 Latter-day Saints and more than 280 congregations in Florida. Jacksonville is located in the northeastern portion of the state. Other temples in the state at the time of the announcement included the Orlando Florida Temple, Fort Lauderdale Florida Temple, Tallahassee Florida Temple (under construction) and Tampa Florida Temple (announced).2
