Temple Announcement

On October 2, 2022, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct the Jacksonville Florida Temple at the October 2022 General Conference. The temple will be the fifth in the state. There are more than 160,000 Latter-day Saints and more than 280 congregations in Florida. Jacksonville is located in the northeastern portion of the state. Other temples in the state at the time of the announcement included the Orlando Florida Temple, Fort Lauderdale Florida Temple, Tallahassee Florida Temple (under construction) and Tampa Florida Temple (announced).1
