Twenty More Temples to Enter Phase 2 of Reopening

An additional 20 temples will enter Phase 2 of reopening on Monday, August 31, 2020, for a total of 67 temples in that phase. The Columbus Ohio Temple had previously entered Phase 2, but it has since closed for renovation. On that same day, the Cebu City Philippines Temple will reopen under Phase 1. Only thirty temples have not yet reopened with eight of those temples currently undergoing a major renovation.

133rd Operating Temple Dedicated in the Philippines

On Sunday, June 13, President Thomas S. Monson dedicated the Cebu City Philippines Temple—the country's second temple. The new temple will cut travel time and expenses for members who live in the Visayas and Mindanao island groups. The temple is the 133rd operating temple worldwide.
