Site Preparation Underway for the Managua Nicaragua Temple

Office trailers, trucks, and bulldozers are among the contractor equipment found at the Managua Nicaragua Temple site. Construction of the temple and ancillary facilities is in the early stages, as the groundbreaking event was held less than three months ago. Ground preparation activities are underway, and piles of aggregate have been delivered to the site ahead of the foundation work.

Groundbreaking Held for the Managua Nicaragua Temple

Elder Taylor G. Godoy, first counselor in the Central America Area presidency, presided at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Managua Nicaragua Temple on Saturday, November 26, 2022. The program featured a youth speaker, a pioneering member speaker, a youth choir, and remarks by Elder Godoy. In his site dedicatory prayer, Elder Godoy said: "Bless the members of the Church in this wonderful country, so that at the same time that the temple is built, they can build and strengthen their testimonies of the Savior Jesus Christ with the resolution to be His disciples forever."

Details Released for the Managua Nicaragua Temple

Details of the Managua Nicaragua Temple were released today including the groundbreaking date, location, and exterior rendering. Elder Taylor G. Godoy, first counselor in the Central America Area presidency, will preside at the groundbreaking event on Saturday, November 26, 2022. The temple will constructed on a 8.9-acre site at the south end of Managua on the highway to Masaya. Plans call for single-level temple of approximately 25,000 square feet.
