The steel frame for the steeple of the Managua Nicaragua Temple has been erected over the center of the pedestal. The tiered structure will feature a windowed lantern topped with a domed cupola and finial. The main floor exterior walls have been coated with a concrete sealer, and pilaster frames have been secured to the corners. Construction is also progressing on the on-site meetinghouse and ancillary building.

The temple was described as being about 25 percent finished and currently scheduled for completion in 2025. Crews have been pouring the roof slab for the temple.

Orange safety fences crisscross the site of the Managua Nicaragua Temple, providing protection for the crews who are working around the large excavation pit for the temple. A temporary staircase provides access to the bottom of the pit, while a crane is used to lift and lower the construction materials. The temple is the first to be constructed in the Central American country of Nicaragua.

Excavation for the foundation of the Managua Nicaragua Temple has begun. The temple will rise on the west side of the property while the meetinghouse and ancillary building will be constructed on the east. Temporary white lines have been used to mark the location for key structures and materials. Crews are working on installing a storm drain system that will service the property.

Office trailers, trucks, and bulldozers are among the contractor equipment found at the Managua Nicaragua Temple site. Construction of the temple and ancillary facilities is in the early stages, as the groundbreaking event was held less than three months ago. Ground preparation activities are underway, and piles of aggregate have been delivered to the site ahead of the foundation work.

Elder Taylor G. Godoy, first counselor in the Central America Area presidency, presided at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Managua Nicaragua Temple on Saturday, November 26, 2022. The program featured a youth speaker, a pioneering member speaker, a youth choir, and remarks by Elder Godoy. In his site dedicatory prayer, Elder Godoy said: "Bless the members of the Church in this wonderful country, so that at the same time that the temple is built, they can build and strengthen their testimonies of the Savior Jesus Christ with the resolution to be His disciples forever."

Details of the Managua Nicaragua Temple were released today including the groundbreaking date, location, and exterior rendering. Elder Taylor G. Godoy, first counselor in the Central America Area presidency, will preside at the groundbreaking event on Saturday, November 26, 2022. The temple will constructed on a 8.9-acre site at the south end of Managua on the highway to Masaya. Plans call for single-level temple of approximately 25,000 square feet.
