Nauvoo Temple Visitors' Center on Track for Completion in 2026

The new Nauvoo Temple Visitors' Center that is under construction across the street from the Nauvoo Illinois Temple at the southwest corner of Wells Street and Young Street is on schedule to be completed in the summer of 2026. Regional Communications Director, Susan Sims, said that the center "allows us to interpret the temple for people who are not familiar with our faith." She added, "It helps us answer questions they may have about why this temple is here. What happened to the historic temple that was built in the 1840s, but was then destroyed in the 1850s."

Aerial View of the Austin Texas Temple Site

The Austin Texas Temple continues to rise at its location near the East Park Street meetinghouse in Cedar Park. A recent aerial photograph beautifully captures the buildings on site. The low-profile ancillary building stands directly behind the meetinghouse, and the temple stands to the west of the ancillary building. Yellow sheathing boards are covering the exterior of the temple, and framing for the top tier of the tower is in place.
