Hill Cumorah Historic Site to Be Rededicated in Palmyra, New York

Located a short distance from the Palmyra New York Temple, the Hill Cumorah Historic Site will be rededicated by Elder David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles on Sunday, September 21, 2025. The Church has welcomed visitors to Hill Cumorah since 1928. A monument featuring a statue of the angel Moroni was dedicated on the hill in 1935. The hill was the site of the Hill Cumorah Pageant from 1935 until 2019. It is now being reforested to help visitors focus on its historical and spiritual significance. The 23 buildings and parking areas that supported the pageant were removed. The visitors’ center, built in 2002, was also renovated, featuring new interactive exhibits, a film, artwork, and three new statues of a scene in the Book of Mormon.
