HOLINESS TO THE LORD
THE HOUSE OF THE LORD

"For thou knowest that we have done this work through great tribulation; and out of our poverty we have given of our substance to build a house to thy name, that the Son of Man might have a place to manifest himself to his people."

Architectural Lighting Tests Begin for the Cody Wyoming Temple

Residents of the Rodeo Capital of the World were given a preview of the architectural lighting for the Cody Wyoming Temple last night as testing began. The lighting system has been carefully designed and will be fine-tuned to create a balanced, reverent illumination that minimizes glare and light spill. Particular attention is given to uniformity and shadow control to avoid harsh contrasts. The programmable system utilizes photocells and timers to regulate its operating hours.

Steel Columns Rising for the Lone Mountain Nevada Temple

Structural framing of the Lone Mountain Nevada Temple, located in northwest Las Vegas, is now rising vertically. Heavy steel columns are being anchored to the concrete foundation, extending high overhead. Numerous steel components, including stair framing assemblies, are staged on site in preparation for installation. Lone Mountain takes its name from a solitary rocky hill that serves as a prominent landmark in the surrounding area.

Architectural Lighting of the Neiafu Tonga Temple

The exterior lighting of the Neiafu Tonga Temple highlights the beauty of the sacred structure against the tropical night sky. Carefully positioned fixtures illuminate the light-colored façade, accentuating the architectural details and giving the building a warm, inviting glow—a reminder that "He that keepeth his commandments receiveth truth and light, until he is glorified in truth and knoweth all things" (D&C 93:28).

Members from the Bo Mission Visit the Freetown Sierra Leone Temple

Church members from the Sierra Leone Bo Mission recently visited the construction site of the Freetown Sierra Leone Temple, where they learned more about the project with great enthusiasm. A couple who plans to bring their children to be sealed were grateful for the patron accommodations on site and for the playground equipment for children. Having waited many years for the opportunity to worship in the temple, these members look forward to the blessings of having a temple in their own country.
