Temple Announcement

On October 2, 2022, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct the Tula Mexico Temple at the October 2022 General Conference. Tula, formally known as Tula de Allende, is an ancient city in the Mexican state of Hidalgo. It is located about 60 miles north of Mexico City with about 100,000 residents. The new temple in Tula will be the second in the state of Hidalgo. The area was once known as the capital of the Toltec empire.1
