Temple Announcement
On April 7, 2024, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct the Honolulu Hawaii Temple at the 194th Annual General Conference. It will become Hawaii's fourth temple, joining the Laie Hawaii Temple, Kahului Hawaii Temple, and Kona Hawaii Temple. Honolulu is located on the island Oahu. It is the capital of Hawaii and most populous city in the state. Oahu is also home to Church-owned Brigham Young University–Hawaii and the Polynesian Cultural Center. At the time of the announcement, there were approximately 75,000 Latter-day Saints organized in 145 congregations in the state.1
