Groundbreaking Date Announced for the Tulsa Oklahoma Temple

Elder Pedro X. Larreal of the United States Southwest Area Presidency will preside at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Tulsa Oklahoma Temple on Saturday, August 22, 2026. The temple, spanning approximately 29,600 square feet, will rise on a 25.7-acre site located northwest of the intersection of 51st Street and 136th E Avenue in Southeast Tulsa. It will be the second temple dedicated in the state, joining the Oklahoma City Oklahoma Temple, dedicated in 2000.

Construction Activity at the Tulsa Oklahoma Temple Site

At the 25.7-acre site designated for the Tulsa Oklahoma Temple, a chain-link fence has been erected, a field office has been set in place, and construction equipment is actively engaged in sitework, including asphalt paving. While construction on the temple itself has not begun and a groundbreaking date has not been announced, these preparatory efforts mark an important step toward the start of the project.

Exterior Rendering Released for the Tulsa Oklahoma Temple

The official exterior rendering for the Tulsa Oklahoma Temple has been published. The single-story temple of approximately 29,600 square feet will be constructed on a 25.7-acre site located northwest of the intersection of 51st Street and 136th E Avenue in Southeast Tulsa. A date for the groundbreaking ceremony will be announced later.

Location Announced for the Tulsa Oklahoma Temple

The location of the Tulsa Oklahoma Temple has been announced as a 25.7-acre site located northwest of the intersection of 51st Street and 136th E Avenue in Southeast Tulsa, near the community of Broken Arrow. Plans call for a single-story temple of approximately 29,600 square feet. The temple will be the second in the Sooner State, joining the Oklahoma City Oklahoma Temple, which was dedicated in 2000.
