Preliminary Site Work Continues for the Osaka Japan Temple
Site preparations are underway on the 16.74-acre property where the Osaka Japan Temple will be constructed. The site, formerly occupied by a campus of Osaka International University, once featured several multistory buildings that have since been demolished, leaving only a retaining wall and staircase. Plans call for both the temple and an ancillary building to be constructed on the property, though a groundbreaking date has not yet been announced.
Demolition Underway at the Osaka Japan Temple Site
Heavy equipment at the Osaka Japan Temple site is carrying out demolition of the existing buildings and hardscape to make way for the temple. The property previously housed a campus of Osaka International University. No groundbreaking date has been announced, but the exterior rendering of the 34,320-square-foot temple was published last month. Plans also call for an ancillary building.
Exterior Rendering Released for the Osaka Japan Temple
The official exterior rendering for the Osaka Japan Temple was published today, September 8, 2025. The two-story temple of approximately 34,320 square feet will be constructed on a 10-acre property located at at 3-50-1 Sugi, Hirakata City in the Osaka prefecture of Japan. An ancillary building will also be constructed on site. This will be the fifth house of the Lord constructed in Japan.
Location for the Osaka Japan Temple Revealed
The location for the Osaka Japan Temple has been announced as a 16.74-acre site located at 3-50-1 Sugi, Hirakata City in the Osaka prefecture of Japan. Plans call for a single-story temple of approximately 29,630 square feet. This will be the fifth house of the Lord constructed in Japan, joining the Tokyo Japan Temple, Fukuoka Japan Temple, Sapporo Japan Temple, and Okinawa Japan Temple.
