On February 9, 2026, the official exterior rendering of the Norfolk Virginia Temple was released to the public.
Temple Site
On February 9, 2026, the location of the Norfolk Virginia Temple was announced as a 23-acre site at the northwest corner of Harbour View Boulevard and Bridge Road in Suffolk, Virginia. Plans call for an 18,850-square-foot, one-story temple with an adjacent distribution center.1
Temple Announcement
On April 6, 2025, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct the Norfolk Virginia Temple at the 195th Annual General Conference. It is the fourth announced for the state, joining the Richmond Virginia Temple, which was dedicated May 2023, and the Roanoke Virginia Temple and Winchester Virginia Temple that were announced in 2023. Norfolk, a waterfront city located along Chesapeake Bay, is the fifth-largest city in Virginia. The state is home to 100,000 Latter-day Saints in about 210 congregations.2
