Viña del Mar Ward Relocates in Preparation for Temple Construction

Members of the Viña del Mar Ward gathered in December for a photograph in front of their meetinghouse, which has now been closed in preparation for construction of the Viña del Mar Chile Temple. The house of the Lord will rise on the 1.87-acre property where the meetinghouse currently stands, allowing for demolition to move forward. The ward has been relocated to the Agua Santa chapel.

Soil Samples Collected at the Viña del Mar Chile Temple Site

A truck-mounted soil sampling rig collected core samples from the site of the Viña del Mar Chile Temple today. The samples will be analyzed to provide engineers the information needed to design a properly supported and sturdy foundation. The property selected for this house of the Lord is the 1.87-acre site where the stake center for the Viña del Mar Chile Stake currently stands.

Location Announced for the Viña del Mar Chile Temple

News on the location of the Viña del Mar Chile Temple was released today. The 30,000-square-foot house of the Lord will be constructed on a 1.87-acre site where the stake center for the Viña del Mar Chile Stake currently stands. The property is located between 3rd North Street and 4th North Street (near 4½ West) in Viña del Mar. It will be the fifth temple built in the nation of Chile.
