Temple Announcement

On October 6, 2024, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct the Santiago Dominican Republic Temple at the 194th Semiannual General Conference. The temple in Santiago will be the Caribbean nation's second. Santiago is the second largest city in the Dominican Republic. The Dominican Republic is home to nearly 150,000 Latter-day Saints in about 200 congregations. The nation’s first temple in Santo Domingo was dedicated in 2000.1
