Temple Announcement
On April 6, 2025, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct the Rapid City South Dakota Temple at the 195th Annual General Conference. It will be the first in the state where more than 11,500 members in approximately 30 congregations call home. Located in western South Dakota, Rapid City is the second-most populous city in South Dakota with a population of more than 80,000. In nearby Black Hills stands the iconic Mount Rushmore National Memorial.1
