Temple Site
On February 23, 2026, the location of the Iloilo Philippines Temple was announced as a 7.7-acre site located along Circumferential Road 1 at its intersection with Green Meadows Avenue in the Tacas neighborhood (barangay) of the Jaro district of Iloilo City. Plans call for a single-story, 18,850 square-foot temple, along with facilities for patron housing, an arrival center, a distribution center, and a meetinghouse.1
Temple Announcement
On April 2, 2023, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct the Iloilo Philippines Temple at the April 2023 General Conference. It was the 12th temple announced for the country. Iloilo City is the capital of Iloilo province in Central Philippines. The city is about 400 miles south of Manila. Church growth in the Philippines has been among the fastest in the world since it officially opened for missionary work in 1961. At the time of the temple's announcement, there were more than 850,000 Latter-day Saints in nearly 1,275 congregations in the country.2
