City Council Approves Plans for The Colorado Springs Colorado Temple

On Tuesday, February 10, the Colorado Springs City Council approved plans for the construction of the Colorado Springs Colorado Temple in a unanimous 8-0 vote. Opposition to the proposal was heard from residents who objected to the all-night lighting of the spire. However, an attorney for the Church explained that the spire would not be reflective and that 98% of the light would be absorbed, offering a welcoming atmosphere. Dozens of public comments and hundreds of letters in support of the project were also received by the Council.
