Sunset at the Abidjan Côte d'Ivoire Temple
The sun sets at the Abidjan Côte d'Ivoire Temple construction site, filling the sky with faint hues of yellow and blue. The temple sits high on a gently sloping hillside and will feature a tall pyramidal spire, making it a highly visible landmark in the neighborhood. Progress is being made on the interior including the plastering of walls. Construction began just over two years ago, and members eagerly look forward to its completion.
Construction of the Abidjan Côte d'Ivoire Temple and Services Building
The exterior walls are in place for the services building under construction next to the stake center for the Cocody Côte d'Ivoire Stake. In front of the building sits a pile of pavers that were removed from the parking lot to make way for the structure. Behind the stake center, the Abidjan Côte d'Ivoire Temple continues to be built. To create a larger staging area, the construction barrier was relocated immediately adjacent to the sidewalk running along the rear side of the meetinghouse.
Plastering Underway Inside the Abidjan Côte d'Ivoire Temple
Bags of plaster can be seen stacked inside the Abidjan Côte d'Ivoire Temple, which are being used to coat the interior walls and create a smooth surface. Concrete blocks are being set to form the exterior walls of the adjoining auxiliary building that will house a Distribution Center. Work at the temple is carefully inspected to ensure accuracy and quality.
Auxiliary Building at the Abidjan Côte d'Ivoire Temple
At the end of 2019, a portion of the parking lot surrounding the stake center next to the Abidjan Côte d'Ivoire Temple was removed, and the tin construction barrier was extended to include this piece of land. For the past several months, construction has been underway on that ground of an auxiliary building that will house a distribution center and other Church-related offices. Structural concrete columns have been poured for the building, and metal posts are helping to support a growing roof structure.
Waterproofing the Abidjan Côte d'Ivoire Temple
A black waterpoofing membrane is being applied to the exterior concrete walls of the Abidjan Côte d'Ivoire Temple to provide protection against the high humidity of the country's coastal region. Crews have also been at work inside the building, which features a full basement level and main floor level. Local members hope to see the temple completed next year.

Backfilling the Abidjan Côte d'Ivoire Temple Foundation
The small mountain of red-colored excavation dirt that has sat next to the Abidjan Côte d'Ivoire Temple for the past several months is now shrinking in size, as earth-moving equipment backfills the completed foundation and brings the ground level with the stake center property. Interior structural support is visible for the raised portion of the building that runs directly behind the tower.

Steel reinforcing bar and concrete forms have been installed in preparation for pouring the base walls of the Abidjan Côte d'Ivoire Temple tower. Following a year of construction, the majority of the concrete exterior is completed. The exposed foundation will be backfilled, creating a slope on the west side of the temple and leaving the ground level with the stake center on the east side.
West Wall Parapets Poured for the Abidjan Côte d'Ivoire Temple
Concrete parapets have been poured along the west wall of the north-facing Abidjan Côte d'Ivoire Temple, which is rising behind the Cocody stake center.
